In Sketches on Scarlatti dancer and choreographer David Hernandez creates a full-length performance based on Domenico Scarlatti’s sonatas for harpsichord. Two men and a woman meet in different situations, spatial settings and atmospheres. Dancers David Hernandez, Colas Lucot and Marie Viennot create a playful conversation and a constantly changing series of relationships, investigating every possible configuration. Among his inspirations for the work, David Hernandez had a special interest in silent films; a reference that continues in Hans Meijer’s lighting design. The result is a surprisingly playful choreography that is sure to stimulate the imagination of the spectator.
